What are some ways you can supplement your income from working at home?

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

I work part time and I’m a part time law student. I have to spend large quantities of time at home studying, and my employer won’t give me any additional hours at work. The economy here in Michigan is the worst in the country, so I’m afraid if I quit my job and try to get a new one I’ll end up unemployed for months because jobs here are VERY scarce. Anyway, I thought about trying to get a second “real job” maybe an extra day and a half per week, but I live in a rural area that is a considerable distance from most civilization, and with gas at $3.25 a gallon out here, plus state, federal, and town income taxes, and a very light workload, I calculated out that I would pretty much be working for free. Given all of this, and since I often have to stay at home to study anyway, is there anything I can do working from home just to supplement my income? Does anyone know of anything just to make a few extra dollars to help pay the bills? Something legal and NOT a scam?

On Common App, I submitted the supplement for Boston College, but had a change of heart about applying there. I tried removing it from my list, but it says I have to apply because I submitted the supplement. Is there anything I can do to have the school revoke it?
